Andy Robertson has become the fifth playert o pledge his future to Liverpool.Robertson joins Virgil van Dijk, Alison, Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold in signing improved terms with Jurgen Klopp’s side during the past four weeks.
The Scotland international previously agreed a five-year contract in 2019 and has extended his stay at Anfield with a similar length deal, running until June 2026.
Since arriving from Hull City for £8 million in 2017, Robertson has established himself as a key influence for the Reds and an eminent attacking full-back.
He said: “Obviously when the negotiations started and it looked as if my future was going to be here longer term than what it was, then I think it’s no secret that I’m happy at this club.
“I want to stay at this club for as long as possible and to extend my stay, it’s always a happy time for me, for my family.
“We’re settled here, we love everything about this football club and I’m glad that the journey is continuing.”
Liverpool remain confident of tying down several other senior first-team figures, including Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, to new long-term deals in due course.
Klopp has also pledged that captain Jordan Henderson’s future ‘will get sorted’.
